Sydney

Yeah, it's been awhile since I've posted anything.  I thought I would be blogging weekly once I quit work, but that didn't happen.  Well, let's move on  to some funny stories about the kids.

Sydney

Sydney has been an active little bee this past 6 months.  She started gymnastics last summer, hoping she would be in the Olympics, but she has decided that isn't her dream.  She just had her last gymnastic recital before she quit.  She loved doing gymnastics with her best friend, Olive Yeates.  She was able to gain great upper body strength which I had a hard time with growing up.

Not only did she do gymnastics, but she joined a girls club called "Girls on the Run".  She loved it.  They would meet for 2 hours a week and talk about positive attitudes and practice running.  At the end of 12 weeks, the girls ran a 5K with a parent/guardian.  Sydney did it with Corban.  They did awesome, they finished in 37 minutes, which is GREAT!!!!

Sydney also played soccer which she loved. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad at each of her games, and I didn't get pictures.  No worries, I'll have get one of her in her uniform and post it.  She just recently had her piano recital. You can see the video below.  (I just got a new camera and I don't know how to work the video on it great, so I missed the beginning of her song).  She has improved so much! She played "Caravan" from Aladdin.

(technical difficulties, coming soon, piano recital song)

Cute story...Sydney got her first pair of high heels right before Mother's Day.  She was so cute in how she tried to walk in them.  At first she kind of looked like a zombie because she didn't bend her feet or legs.  I think she thought she would fall.  Big Corban told her to walk heel to toe and that helped.  We bought her shoes big for them to last longer. Corban and I were discussing which method was best to make them fit better, toilet paper vs. kleenex in the toe.  At first Sydney wouldn't listen to me, then I reminded her that I'm the one that wears heels and not Dad.  Rachel then pipes in and says "Well maybe he wore his mothers before".  Sydney is a great big sister and daughter...we love her!
